Week 3 is here for LeFlore County teams with seven games on the schedule for Friday night.
Talihina got an early start with a 40-7 win over Poteau’s JV on Thursday (see STORY).
Poteau and Panama are looking to stay undefeated while Bokoshe, Heavener and Spiro are looking for their first wins.
Poteau (2-0) welcomes DeQueen, Ark. (1-1) in the Pirates’ final non-district contest. The Pirates have won fairly easily over Durant and Tulsa Hale while the Leopards were blow out in their opener against Mena, Ark., before defeating state power Nashville, Ark. last week.
Panama (3-0) will cross the state lines to play at Subiaco Academy in Arkansas. Subiaco is 1-1 entering Friday’s game while the Razorbacks opened with easy wins over Warner and Heavener before winning a squeaker over Central Sallisaw, 56-54, last week.
Heavener (0-3) hopes to end its losing skid against Valliant (0-3). The Wolves have lost at Haskell, at home to Panama and at 4A Stilwell next week. Heavener has one more district contest at home next week against 2A power Vian before starting district play in two weeks.
Bokoshe (0-2) will have a tough test against undefeated Graham-Dustin (3-0).
Spiro (0-2) also has a tough road game when the Bulldogs travel to Stigler (3-0) on Friday. The Bulldogs opened with a narrow loss to Roland before losing big at Muldrow last week.
Pocola will try and climb above the .500 mark when the Indians (1-1) visit Charleston, Ark. (0-2) on Friday. The Indians start district play next week at home against Talihina.
Arkoma (2-1) hopes to extend its winning streak to three games as the Mustangs host Midway (1-1).
