POCOLA—Pocola swept Westville to win a 3A fast-pitch softball district tournament on Thursday.
The Lady Indians blanked Westville, 10-0, in the first game and scored nine runs in the top of the first in the second game en route to a 10-1 victory.
Pocola advances to the 3A regional tournament next week.
In the opener, Shakyrah Gladness pitched all four innings, allowing three strikeouts while giving up three hits. Dache Benge homered and tripled while going 2-2 with four RBI and a run scored, Morgan Francis was 1-1 with a double, a run scored and a RBI, Summer Perkins finished 3-3 with three runs and a RBI and Kena Chitwood went 2-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Chitwood got the win in the second game, throwing 5.0 innings, striking out six and giving up three hits.
Amanda Rapin homered twice and was 2-3 with three RBI and two runs, Perkins homered and was 2-3 with two runs and a RBI, Kenzie Tuck tripled while going 2-4 with a RBI and a run, Francis had a 2-2 game with a run and a RBI and Emma Damato doubled while going 2-2 with a run and a RBI.
