WISTER—Wister split its two games in a Class A fast baseball district tournament on Thursday.
The Wildcats opened with a 16-3 win over Cameron before Rattan scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Wister, 4-3.
Against Cameron, Wister scored 11 runs in the second inning to put the game away. Matthew Holzhammer was the winning pitcher, going 5.0 innings with three hits and two strikeouts..
Kaleb Speers doubled and was 3-3 with three runs and a RBI to lead Wister while Jeffrey Morris doubled and went 2-3 with two runs and a RBI, Austin Brooks was 2-3 and Caleb Stacy was 2-3 with two runs and a RBI, Bryar Ward tripled and was 1-3 with three RBI and two runs and Kadin Repass went 1-2 with a double and a run scored.
Kolby McGee was 2-3 for Cameron with a run scored.
Trailing 3-2, Rattan rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Wister in the winner’s bracket finals.
Kendon Thornburg took the loss, going 6.1 innings with eight hits and seven strikeouts. Brooks doubled while doing 2-3 with a run, Stacy was 2-3 with two RBI and Repass finished 2-3.
Rattan defeated Howe, 8-6, in an earlier game. No score was reported on the Howe-Cameron loser’s bracket game.
