An 18-year old Heavener man died in an auto accident Sunday at approximately 8:19 p.m. on LeFlore Road, approximately one mile west of U.S. 271 and three miles east of LeFlore.
Christopher Raymond, 18, of Heavener was driving a 1991 Chevrolet truck which was westbound when it veered across the center line, striking a 2000 Ford truck driven by Jack Pruitt, 41, of Omaha, Texas.
Raymond was pronounced dead at the scene. He had two passengers in the truck. One, a 16-year-old from Wister was transferred by EMS to Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center, treated and released with an arm injury.
The second passenger, a 16-year-old from Heavener, was transported by Tulsa Life Flight to St. Francis Hopital in Tulsa where he is listed in stable condition with a head injury.
Pruitt was taken to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas and is listed in stable condition with internal injuries.
All parties were wearing seat belts aside from the Heavener youth. Airbags were equipped in both vehicles, but did not deploy.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Josh Blake, assisted by Trooper Fernando Cardenas, Trooper Ryan Williams along with the LeFlore and Summerfield Fire Departments.
