For January, 10 of the 15 cities and communities in LeFlore County that collect sales tax showed an increase with Pocola showing a large increase.

Pocola saw a jump of $59,898 last January to $87,527 this past January. Poteau also had a large jump of $6,960.99 over last January.
Heavener had the largest decrease, going from $67,422 last year to $60,333 this year. Overall, the cities and communities had an increase of $34,743, going from $703,302 last year to $738,045 this year.
LeFlore County also saw a good jump. In January of 2017, the county’s portion of the sales tax was $542,425 while this year it went up to $566,931.
