2024 Heavener football schedule

2024 Heavener football schedule

After the football districts for the next two years were revised, Heavener had to alter its football schedule due to a new district.

The only two teams on the schedule from last year are Central Sallisaw and Hugo. This will be the first time in several years for Heavener to play Panama and Roland. There are two district champions from last year on the schedule in Prague and Kiefer, which reached the semifinals before losing to Oklahoma City Millwood.

This will be the first time Heavener plays Charleston, Kingston, Okmulgee, Kiefer and Bethel. Heavener played at Prague in a playoff game in the early 1970s.

With Class 2A divided into two divisions, initially Heavener was in a district with two private schools and Idabel, but all three of those teams have been moved up to Class 3A.

Heavener was 7-4 last season, finishing third in its district and making its first playoff appearance since 2011, a 30-28 loss at Sequoyah-Tahlequah.

While Heavener has typically went primarily south for its district, this year the Wolves will travel to Hugo in southern Oklahoma, go to Roland, on the Arkansas border, travel to Kiefer in the Tulsa area and to Bethel, which is west of Shawnee.

Here is the new schedule:
