Albert Wayne Prince

Albert Wayne Prince of the Lovings community in Heavener was born Oct. 15, 1956 in Heavener to John Wilburn and Wilma Laudene (Churchill) Prince and passed away Nov. 27, 2024 in Poteau at the age of 68.

Albert Wayne Prince serviceFuneral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Poteau with President Eric Barlow officiating. Burial will follow in Lovings Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Cremation Center of Poteau.

Wayne was a life-long resident of the area, worked as a janitor for CASC, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Poteau. Wayne was an avid 49ers fan, enjoyed bowling, miniature golf, horseshoes, and was also a long standing member of LDS.  He will be deeply missed by many whom loved and knew him.

Survivors are his cousin, who is like his little sister, Vicki Rodgers, of Lovings; his aunt, Lois Smedley, of Poteau; nieces Kathy Prince and Leslie Dickenson; best friends Trena, Brett and Homer; the entire staff at The Oaks Healthcare Center; numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Wilburn and Wilma Prince; his wife, Dottie Prince; three brothers Harold Prince, Johnny Prince and Marvin Duane Prince; and a nephew, Mycal Prince.

The family requests people wear hunter green clothing, Oklahoma Sooners, or Carl Albert State College clothing in honor of Wayne.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Fessler, Jerry Rodgers, Justin Woodral, Jake Gillham, Gary Kitchens and Nick Lloyd.

Viewing is from 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday with the family visiting with friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home.
