Battiest edges Wolves, 8-6

SMITHVILLE—Battiest took the lead with two runs in the top of the seventh and made the lead stand up in an 8-6 win over Heavener in the opening round of the Smithville baseball Tournament Thursday.

The Wolves, now 3-10, will play at noon Friday against the losers of Friday’s game between Fort Gibson and Haworth. Battiest improves to 4-11.
