LeFlore County commissioners
The LeFlore County commissioners met in a regular business meeting Tuesday with Chairman Jamie Oliver presiding. Also present were Vice-Chair Vallard Campbell, Member Josh Blaylock, and County Clerk, Kelli Ford.
The following action was taken by the board:
- Chairman Jamie Oliver called meeting to order.
- Motion was made by Jamie Oliver and seconded by Josh Blaylock to approve the minutes of regular meeting held August 26, 2024. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Motion was made by Jamie Oliver and seconded by Vallard Campbell to approve purchase orders as presented. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Bonds: None presented.
- Motion was made by Jamie Oliver and seconded by Josh Blaylock to approve monthly fee reports as presented by the LeFlore County Clerk, Public Health and Sold Waste departments, and are on file in the office of the County Clerk. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Transfers of appropriations: None presented.
- Blanket purchase orders: None presented.
- New business: None presented.
- Contract labor/service agreements, annual contracts: None presented.
- Burn ban: No discussion.
- Motion was made by Josh Blaylock and seconded by Vallard Campbell to approve Annual Financial Work Plan Cooperative Service Agreement between APHIS-WS and LeFlore County as submitted by the United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wild Life Services. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Motion was made by Jamie Oliver and seconded by Josh Blaylock to approve resolution determining maximum monthly highway expenditures for the month of September, 2024. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Motion was made by Jamie Oliver and seconded by Vallard Campbell to approve resolution determining maximum monthly Use Tax highway expenditures for the month of September, 2024. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Motion was made by Jamie Oliver and seconded by Josh Blaylock to approve Treasurer’s monthly Report of Officers for the month of August, 2024. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Motion was made by Josh Blaylock and seconded by Jamie Oliver to approve resolution and bid notice advertising to accept sealed bids regarding the purchase of a commercial cab fire pumper truck to benefit Summerfield Fire Department. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Motion was made by Jamie Oliver and seconded by Vallard Campbell to award bid regarding the purchase of a fire pumper/tanker to benefit Arkoma Fire Department to Banner Fire in the amount of $383,547. Arkoma Fire Department will be providing a $100,000 down payment on a 15 year note with monthly payments to Welch State Bank in the amount of $2,349.85. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
- Motion was made by Jamie Oliver and seconded by Josh Blaylock to approve request made by the LeFlore County Child Advocacy Network to place purple pinwheels on the Courthouse lawn for the month of October, 2024 in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Child Advocacy Network will be responsible for placement and removal of all pinwheels. Motion was approved, all voting yes.
