Council approves repair bill
By CRAIG HALL
The Heavener City Council approved an invoice to repair the Heavener Runestone Community Building for $4,800 for Tommy Dolph during Thursday’s meeting.
Present were Mayor Max Roberts, along with Council members Melinda Ballantine, Joey Clubb, Marvin Meredith and Jim Roll.
Some of the materials such as siding have already been purchased. The bid would be changed depending on the extent of damage once work commences on the building. The improvements sparked questions from the audience later in the meeting about annexing the park and also about seeing the finances for the Friends of the Runestone, a non-profit group that runs the park that the city of Heavener owns.
The deadline on applications for a new city manager applications are a week from now. Roberts mentioned the interviewing process of having two Council members do the interview which Clubb didn’t agree with.
