Arkoma lost its home opener to Webbers Falls, 60-14 Thursday night last night while Poteau avenged a loss from last year with a win at Metro Christian, Pocola soared past Spiro and Panama lost at home to Hackett, Arkansas and Heavener won at Hartshorne for the first time since 2004.

Dax Collins scored on a 56-yard run to lead the Pirates past Metro Christian. The Pirates improve to 2-0 and host Chandler in the final non-district game next week.

Pocola jumped out to a 50-0 win at halftime over Spiro and finished with a 56-6 victory.

The Indians are 2-1 and have a bye next week. Spiro is 1-1 and visits Muldrow.

Panama dropped to 0-2 with the loss to the Hornets. The Razorbacks visit a struggling Wilburton team next week with both teams looking for their first win of the season.

In Arkoma’s game with Webbers Falls Thursday, the Mustangs led for most of the first quarter, before trailing 26-14 at halftime and Arkoma could not string together momentum during the second half.

Cody Morales was 10-20 passing for 146 yards and a touchdown. He contributed 3 tackles on defense.

Cayson Chambers had 33 rushing yards and a touchdown. He was 6/9 passing for 44 yards as well. He contributed four tackles on defense and returned three kicks for 61 yards.

Scout Smith had four catches for a career high 124 yards and a touchdown. He also contributed three tackles on defense.

Carl Brake had three catches for 55 yards and led the defense with seven tackles, including two for a loss, along with recovering a fumble.

Jimmy Culbreath had 21 yards receiving, two tackles, and forced a fumble.

Tyler Lewis had three tackles, with one for a loss.

Brian Flurry, Keith Niles, and Brycen Gunter each recorded two tackles.

Kingston Farrar, Salvador Vargas, and Christopher Thomas each had a tackle.

Baylor Weatherton kicked two onside kicks, allowing zero return yards.

Arkoma (1-1) hosts Wetumka next week.
