County teams suffer Black Friday

There have been several Black Fridays in regard to the stock market.

Friday was Black Friday for the LeFlore County football teams.

Only one county team won and it was against another LeFlore County team.

For the other county teams, what looked like a promising run to district championships and playoff appearances suddenly came into doubt after Friday’s results.

Poteau, which has been a perennial playoff participant for over a decade, is currently out of the playoffs after a 35-14 loss at home to Hilldale; Heavener was drilled by Kiefer, 60-9; Spiro lost at Henryetta, 54-14; Pocola won at Panama, 30-20; Talihina suffered its first loss to Regent Prep, 41-26; and Arkoma was crushed by Webbers Falls, 60-14.
