Deuce Walden leads Arkoma past Gans

Deuce Walden leads Arkoma past Gans Friday night, scoring 34 points to lead Arkoma’s boys to a 64-53 win over Gans Friday night.

In the other game, Gans kept the Lady Mustangs looking for their first win with a 50-32 victory.

Both Arkoma teams are in action in the LeFlore County Tournament this week.

Arkoma’s girls play LeFlore 4 p.m. Monday at Poteau. The Mustangs are in action against Howe 8:30 p.m. Monday at Panama.

Arkoma’s girls, now 0-10, kept the game tight until Gans went on a 19-6 run in the third quarter to take a commanding lead into the final period. Gans’ girls are 4-8.

Kaitlyn Glasgow led Arkoma with nine points and 14 rebounds

Arkoma jumped ahead by 10 points at the end of the first quarter and coasted to the win. In addition to Walden’s big game, Carl Brake had 13 rebounds and seven steals.

Arkoma is 6-5 while Gans is 2-7.
