Durant man hurt in motorcycle wreck

A 51-year-old Durant man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 5:48 p.m. Sunday, approximately one mile north of Durant.

He was driving a Yamaha Reckluse motorcycle on a homemade dirt bike track on private property when he attempted a jump, lost control of the bike when it came down, sending him over the front or the motorcycle where he landed on his back.

He was transported to the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas with external, wrist and ankle injuries.

The cause of the accident was listed as unsafe speed for road conditions.

He was wearing a helmet along with full body protective gear

The accident was investigated by Trooper Jerrid Hobbie, assisted by Bryan County EMS and Durant Fire Department.
