Fort Towson man convicted of murder

MUSKOGEE – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Thomas Raymond Phillips III, 36, of Fort Towson was found guilty by a federal jury of one count of first-degree murder in Indian Country, one count of use, carry, brandish and discharge of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of causing the death of a person in the course of a violation of title 18 U.S.C. § 924(c).

The jury trial began with testimony Monday, and concluded Wednesday with the guilty verdicts.
