It was not the start Heavener’s boys wanted in their Black Diamond Conference basketball game against Hartshorne Monday.
The Wolves fell behind 18-5 early, couldn’t buy a 3 and had trouble getting inside shots off against Hartshorne’s 6-11 Luke Rowton.
The Wolves trailed 25-15 at the half before getting hot and getting Rowton in foul trouble. Heavener hit four 3’s in the third quarter to cut Hartshorne’s lead to four points, two 3’s each by Rogelio Garcia and Isaac Cook.

The Wolves improve to 8-4 going into Tuesday’s game at Talihina. Hartshorne is 8-3.
Heavener wasn’t as fortunes in the first game against the undefeated and second-ranked Lady Minors, falling 71-21. Heavener drops to 3-8 while Hartshorne is 10-0.
