Heavener Council approves promotion

The Heavener City Council approved the promotion of Walker LeMay to sergeant with an hourly rate of $20.45 at Thursday’s regular business.

Present were Mayor Max Roberts along with members Joey Clubb, Marvin Meredith, Jim Roll and Chris Bradford.

City manager Ty Armstrong, was given the added responsibility of serving as assistant police chief.

The Council also approved minutes from the previous meeting and purchase orders presented for payment prior to a lengthy executive session that led to the promotion of LeMay and additional duty for Armstrong.

This was the first of the two scheduled meetings for the City Council. The Council and Heavener Utilities Authority meet Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
