Heavener goes 1-1 at LeFlore Tournament

Heavener goes 1-1 at LeFlore Tournament Friday, losing a close game to Smithville in the opener before blasting Haworth in the second contest, 14-0.

Heavener is now 2-3 and continues play in the tournament Saturday. The Lady Wolves also visit Vian for a doubleheader Monday.

GAME ONE

Smithville scored three runs in the second inning and added another one in the fourth to hold off Heavener’s late rally.

Kristy Shadwick went the first three innings, giving up two hits and four runs, one earned, with four strikeouts and two walks. Britlee Reed threw the final frame, striking out two and walking one.

Reed doubled at the plate and was 1-2 with one RBI. JaLyn Hash also doubled while going 1-2 with a run scored.

GAME TWO

The Lady Wolves scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning and cruised to the easy win over Haworth to stay alive in the tournament.

Reed went the distance for Heavener, giving up one hit with four strikeouts and four walks.

Meredith Smith doubled twice and was 3-3 with six RBI and a run, Shadwick had a 2-2 outing with three runs and a RBI, Kaitlin Hurst was 2-2 with two runs and a RBI and Kelsey Morrison finished 2-2 with two RBI and a run scored.
