Heavener rallies past Porum
Heavener scored five insurance runs in the fifth inning and made the lead hole up in an 18-14 win at Porum Monday.
Heavener is 11-7 overall and scheduled to host Wilburton and Battiest, weather permitting, Tuesday starting at 5 p.m.
The Lady Wolves led 12-1 before Porum scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the game competitive.
Heavener, which had 27 hits, was led by Kinley Brand who tripled and doubled while going 5-5 with two RBI and two runs, McKinley Alexander was 4-5 with two RBI and two runs, Ava Cartwright tripled and doubled while going 3-5 with three runs and a RBI, Meredith Smith doubled twice while going 3-5 with two RBI and a run, Gracie Morrison had a 3-5 outing with three runs and a RBI, Maggie Dawes finished 3-5 with three RBI and a run, Addley McCalester finished 3-4 with three runs and two RBI, Mariana Garcia doubled while going 1-5 with a RBI and a run and Brooklyn May doubled and was 1-4 with a run and a RBI.
