Agenda for Heavener School Board 5-9-2022

HEAVENER – The Heavener School Board will meet in a regular business meeting 5 p.m. Monday at the Glenn Scott Educational Center at 500 West Second Street in Heavener.

Here is the agenda:

  1. Opening flag salute.
  2. Invocation.
  3. Call meeting to order and record members present. Oath of office to Michael White and reorganization of the board.
  4. Principals’ report: Diane Cox, Jeremy Dyer, Grant Ralls.
  5. Superintendent report: Ed Wilson.
  6. Consent agenda.
  7. Approve or disapprove student open transfers for 2023.
  8. Approve or disapprove accepting bids to demolish and remove the old ag building.
  9. Approve or disapprove telemedicine contract with Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center.
  10. Approve or disapprove revisions to elementary and high school handbooks for 2023.
  11. Approve or disapprove contract with Tom Cameron and Associated for federal programs management for 2023.
  12. Approve or disapprove stipend of $750 for the school climate grant: Ed Wilson, Mildred D. Cox, Connie Shockley, Jeremy Dyer, Aaron Scroggins, Susan Tolbert, Dana Carter, Margo Wright and Sabrina Dyer. Stipends for $350 for Grant Ralls and Brian Terry.
  13. Approve or disapprove resignations as received by the superintendent.
  14. Proposed executive session to discuss the employment of the following positions/employees for summer employment and 2022-2023 school year 25 OS 307 (B)(1).

Two lower elementary teaching positions; one upper elementary teaching position; teacher assistant.

Federal grants summer tutors at $28 hour: John Fowler Jr., Pamela Head (two days a week), Randall Wheat (two days a week).

Summer school driver education teacher: $1,700 per session—Aaron Turner.

Certified staff/Heavener schools.

Temporary certified staff/Heavener schools year one: Gunnar Sanders and Jody Clubb.

Temporary certified staff Heavener schools year two.

Part-time retired certified staff/Heavener schools: Arlin Glover, Gregory Wilson.

Certified staff/LeFlore County special education cooperative.

  1. Vote to convene in executive session.
  2. Acknowledge boards’ return to open session and president’s statement regarding items discussed in executive session.
  3. Approve or disapprove employment of the following positions/employees: Two lower elementary teaching positions; one upper elementary teaching position; teacher assistant.
