Heavener splits 2 games with Hartshorne Friday night on Fan Appreciation Night at Heavener.The Lady Miners broke open the game in the second half and used their pressure defense to force several turnovers in a 74-51 win before Heavener’s boys dominated the second game in a 54-34 victory.

Hartshorne outscored the Lady Wolves 53-39 in the second half to seal the Black Diamond Conference win.
Brooklyn May led Heavener with 13 points; McKinley Alexander had 11 and Cayleigh McGee finished with 10.

Boys
Heavener dominated from the outset, led again by senior standout Landon Thurman and a stout defense for the win over the Miners, which had dominated the series between the two schools until the last couple of years.
The Wolves sprinted out to a 16-8 lead after one quarter before extending the advantage to 50-21 after three periods.
Thurman led Heavener with 31 points while Devry Ritter had a good game off the bench with eight points.
