Heavener wins 2 games in Festival
POCOLA – Heavener’s girls went 2-0 in the slow pitch softball Black Diamond Festival Monday.
The Lady Wolves beat Wilburton in the opener, 11-0, before downing Hartshorne, 18-6, in the second game.
Up next
Weather permitting, Heavener is scheduled to resume play in the Festival Tuesday.
Wilburton
In the win over Wilburton, Heavener grabbed a 9-0 lead after two innings and cruised to the win. Heavener only had five hits, but the Lady Wolves took advantage of four Wilburton errors and eight walks.
Kinley Brand had a big game for Heavener, hitting a home run and double while going 2-3 with three runs and two RBI. McKinley Alexander finished 2-3 with two RBI and two runs.

Hartshorne
In the second game, after Hartshorne scored six runs in the top of the first, Heavener answered with 16 scores in the bottom half of the inning.
Brand doubled twice and was 2-2 with two runs and a RBI, Anleigh Hackney also had two doubles and went 2-2 with three RBI and three runs, Gracie Morrison doubled while going 2-2 with three runs and two RBI, Maggie Dawes finished 2-2 with three RBI and Paisley Stacy doubled and had a 1-3 outing with three RBI and two runs.
