Choctaw Tribal councilman Jess Henry has announced his re-election bid for District 4.
“When I ran for the Tribal Council four years ago, I promised to increase housing, expand local services and improve the lives of the Choctaw Nation,” Henry said. “And I delivered.
“While we’ve seen the groundbreaking of the new Dale Cox Community Center in Poteau, increased senior nutrition and expanded tribal services all over the district, more work needs to be done. That’s why I’m once again asking the Choctaw people for their vote.”
Choctaw Tribal Council District 4 encompasses most of the northern half of LeFlore County. The election is July 12.
Henry spent his career in law enforcement and was the highest-ranking Choctaw in the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He is also the owner of Henry Diesel Services. He and his wife, Joy, have been married 43 years and live in Pocola.
