Howe splits games in Big 8 Festival

Howe splits games in Big 8 Festival, losing the opener to Keys before bouncing back to down Westville.

The Lady Lions, now 1-1, were defeated in the opener, 6-4, before downing Westville in the second game, 7-1.

Game One

In the opener against Keys, the Lady Cougars scored all six of their runs and Howe never caught up.

Kaydence Delt went all four innings, giving up five hits, six runs, all earned, with six strikeouts and four walks.

Micah Davidson went 2-3 while Jazz Harrison homered and was 1-2 with a RBI and a run.

Game Two

In the second game, Howe took a commanding lead by scoring six runs in the bottom of the third inning and cruised to the 7-1 win.

Delt went five innings, allowing only one hit with six strikeouts and two walks. Lexi Scarberry pitched the final inning, giving up two hits and one run with one walk.

Delt also led Howe’s offense, going 2-2 with a pair of doubles and one RBI, Kylie Mundy also doubled and went 2-3 with a RBI, Jozlyn Johnson doubled while going 2-3 with a run.
