Howe splits with Bokoshe, Pocola

POCOLA – Howe split a pair of high school baseball games in a 3-way at Pocola Wednesday.

The Lions opened with an 11-2 win over Bokoshe before losing the late game to Pocola, 6-5.

In the opener, Howe trailed early before using a 6-run fourth inning to take control of the contest.

Ethan Dalton went three innings to get the win before getting relief help from Wesley Toney. Dalton gave up three hits and two runs with one walk and four strikeouts. Toney threw two hitless innings with two walks and three strikeouts.

Brody Sullard doubled and was 1-3 with two RBI and a run. Braden Blake finished 1-3 with two RBI and a run.

In the loss to Pocola, Howe outhit the Indians, 11-3, only to see Pocola score three times in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead and get the win.

Sullard went four innings, allowing two hits and six runs with nine walks and seven strikeouts. Blake threw two innings, giving up one hit with three walks and two strikeouts. Toney finished up, walking one.

Garrett Smith was 2-4 with a run, Dalton had a 2-2 outing with a RBI and a run, Sullard finished 2-3 with a run, A. Covey had a 2-3 game with a RBI and Toney finished 2-3 with a run scored.
