Jobless rates up for Oklahoma

Jobless rates were up for most of Oklahoma’s counties in February’s report from the Oklahoma Employment Securities Commission.

McIntosh had the high unemployment rate at 6.7 percent, Seminole was second followed by Haskell. Dewey County had the lowest rate at 2.4 percent.

Unemployment rates were high than a year ago in 75 counties and lower in two.

LeFlore County’s unemployment rate rose to 4.9 percent for the month, up from 4.6 in January, 4.1 from December and 3.9 percent last year in February.

The county had 19,409 individuals employed with 990 out of work. Last month, there were 19,341 people employed and 935 out of work.
