LeFlore County football teams went 2-2 Friday night in the opening round of the high school playoffs.
Pocola and Talihina stayed alive with wins while Panama and Poteau were eliminated.
Pocola, now 9-2, built a big lead early and cruised to a 52-14 win over Tonkawa (6-5) in a Class A-1 game. The Indians advance to play at Hooker, which is now 10-1 after defeating Minco, 20-0, Friday night.
Talihina, now 10-1 held on to defeat Barnsdall (6-5) in a 1 vs. 4 matchup, 30-20 in a Class A-II contest. The Golden Tigers are the only LeFlore County team playing at home next week when they host Texhoma/Goodwell (8-3). Texhoma defeated Velma-Alma, 42-12, Friday.

In its 12th straight playoff appearance and the fourth opening-round playoff game at Wagoner during that stretch, Poteau (6-5) could not hang with undefeated Wagoner (11-0). The Bulldogs advance to play another 4A power in Clinton, which eliminated defending state champion Blanchard in another playoff game Friday.
Panama was defeated, 30-7, in a Class A-1 game at Pawnee. The Razorbacks finish with a 6-5 record and in a three-way tie for third place in the district behind Rejoice Christian and Pocola. Pawnee hosts Cashion in the second round.
