LeFlore County weather 7-7-2022

The intense heat wave continues Thursday and is expected to be worse as an excessive heat warning has been issued for Thursday for LeFlore County.

One day after tying a record high for the date, temperatures are expected to be 102 with the heat index value to meet or exceed 110. A low of 77 degrees is also expected.

Sunrise is 6:11 a.m. with sunset at 8:35 p.m.

Wednesday’s high was 102, which tied a record high for the date set in 1997. The low was 77.

Average temperatures for July 7 are a high of 92 and a low of 69. Records for the date were a high of 105 in 1998 and a low of 64 in 1997.

Last year on this date the high was 92 with a low of 71.  Everybody is encouraged to avoid strenuous activities to the early morning and evening hours, drink lots of fluid and take frequent breaks to avoid heat illness.
