Obituary for Barbara McBride

Barbara Jean McBride of Muse was born Oct. 23, 1932 in the Big Cedar community to W.C. and Enola (Cross) Dehart. The Lord called her home May 9, 2024 in Heavener at the age of 91.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Big Cedar Free Will Baptist Church with Minister John Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Cedar Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

She was a member of the Big Cedar Free Will Baptist Church for 79 years. She married Bill McBride Dec. 27, 1948. She loved hunting with Orville and Bryan and fishing with her sister, Dorothy. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Sharon McBride of Muse, Orville McBride and wife Sherri of Tulsa, and Phyllis Kester and husband Jeff of Poteau;

Seven grandchildren Bryan Kester and wife Leah of Charleston, West Virginia, Tommy McBride and wife Kendra of Edmond, Dusty McBride and wife Kara of Edmond, Tracy Bryant and husband Aaron of Talihina, Brandi Colby and husband Ab of Owasso, and Mindi McBride of Tulsa, and Cagney Green and husband Kevin of Fort Smith, Arkansas;

15 great-grandchildren Walter, Harris, Maggie and Maddon Kester of West Virginia, Isaac, Noah, and Samuel Bryant of Talihina, Emily, Reiley, and Grayson McBride of Edmond, Preston McBride of Edmond, Anthony and Ainsley Colby of Owasso, Grant Early of Tulsa and Eli Green of Fort Smith, Arkansas;

Two sisters Wilma Simmons of Adin, California and Dorothy Rose of Talihina;

One sister-in-law Cleva Dehart of Muse;

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents W.C. and Enola Dehart; her husband, Bill McBride; one infant daughter, Margaret McBride; a grandson, Scotty McBride; and two brothers Junior and Printess Dehart.

Pallbearers are her family.

Viewing is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
