Betty Ruth Thomas of Howe was born in the Conser community in Heavener to John W. and Dovie (Roberts) Nobles Feb. 25, 1931 and passed away Oct. 21, 2024 in Howe at the age of 93.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Interment is in the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Betty was a long-time resident of the area, an owner/operator of a dry cleaner business, and a member of the First Baptist Church. She also worked in a clothing factory, as a housekeeper and a caregiver. Betty loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving family members are three daughters Margaret Dixon and husband Vaughn of Corona, California, Glinda Welty and husband Jerry of Heavener, and Diane Booher of Heavener; one sister Cheree Cowan of Mesquite, Texas; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Dovie Nobles; her husband, Johnny Thomas; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Thomas; one son-in-law, Glynn Booher; one grandson, Eric Booher; and 10 siblings.
Pallbearers are her family.
Viewing is from noon until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
