Gerald Wayne “Joe/Jerry” Clubb of Poteau was born Jan. 1, 1942 in Heavener to Casper and Imogene (Elliott) Clubb and passed this life in Poteau Feb.13, 2024.
He and his wife Carolyn (Wyatt) Clubb were married for 63 years. Joe and Carolyn had three boys.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Monday at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener with Kenneth Clubb and Glenda Yates officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Joe was a 1959 graduate of Heavener High School. He started his career as a surveyor for the State of Oklahoma, owned the DX Station in Heavener for several years, worked as the foreman for maintenance way for the KCS Railroad and retired after 30 years. He enjoyed buying and selling cars as a hobby. Joe thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed. His love for his family and God never waivered. Even when his health deteriorated he always called his family to check on them.
Surviving family members are his wife, Carolyn Clubb; two sons Tracy Clubb and Ronnie Clubb; three sisters Glenda Yates, Marie Calhoun and husband Ron and Janell Sarnowski and husband Paul; two brothers Roger Clubb and Kenneth Clubb and wife Melissa; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Casper and Imogene (Elliott) Clubb; a son, Gregory Clubb; a grandson, Jacob Wayne Clubb; his brothers Tommy and Paul Ray Clubb; a sister-in-law, Dusty Clubb; and two brothers-in-law, Ed Yates and Bill Kincaid.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Gerald to Gideon International for Bibles.
