Obituary for Jerry Harvell

Jerry Don Harvell of Heavener was born Dec. 25, 1950 in Sallisaw to Delmar and Odell (Daws) Harvell and passed away May 16, 2024 in Heavener at the age of 73.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, with Brother Ed McClain and Brother Tim McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Jerry was a long-time resident of Heavener and a member of the Coaldale Baptist Church. He served as a firefighter with the Arkansas Air National Guard and was the owner/operator of Jerry’s Mobil Clean. Jerry enjoyed watching Oklahoma football and NASCAR, as well as fishing and bird and coon hunting. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane Harvell, of the home;

One daughter Lacey Long and husband Michael of Godley, Texas;

One son Cody Harvell and wife Debronna of Cleburne, Texas;

Four grandchildren Wyatt Hurst of Godley, Texas, Joseph Katz of Denton, Texas, Amanda Tatanish of Hermleigh, Texas and Calvin Long of Fort Worth, Texas;

One niece Shelley Harvell and husband Bruce of Catoosa;

Two nephews Rusty Harvell of Heavener and Darren Harvell of Wagoner;

Numerous other relatives and host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Doyle Harvell; a sister-in-law, Janet Harvell; and one nephew, Chad Harvell.

Pallbearers are Cody Harvell, Wyatt Hurst, Michael Long, Rusty Harvell, Randall Fox and Trevor Fox.

Viewing is 9 a.m. Saturday with the family visiting with friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
