Coleman LeRoy Billy, 84, passed away Feb. 21, 2024, at his home in Gilmore with his family by his side.
The Celebration of Life Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Baptist Church, on the corner of Flanagan Street and Holiday Avenue in Poteau in Poteau with Pastor David Billy and Brother Phil McGehee officiating. Burial will follow at the Vaughn Cemetery in Gilmore.
Leroy was born May 22, 1939, in Gilmore to Thomas Coleman and Edna (Borden) Billy. He was of the Baptist faith, serving as pastor of Hontubby for 10 years and Trinity Baptist in Poteau for over 49 years.
He and his wife JoAnn bought KPRV in1988 and have operated it for over 36 years. He leaves behind a lifetime of love and service to our community.
Surviving family members are his wife of 61 years, JoAnn Billy; his daughter Belinda Westfall and husband Joe; his sons Barry Bruton and wife Julie, David Billy and wife Lisa, and Nathan Billy and husband Stacy; his grandchildren Ashlee McBride, Michael Billy, Aidan Billy, Curtis Bennett, Thomas Westfall, Laura Westfall, Chris Hackett, Daniel Bruton and Robyn Rivera; great grandchildren Zoey Westfall, Lily Westfall, Sophia Klusmeyer, Noah Hackett and Jeremiah Hackett; his brother Charles Billy; and his sister, Cherry Neal.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Alison Hackett, and his siblings Gerald Billy, Norma Burden, and Janevieve Dameron.
The family will meet and greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at The Cedars on 520 Dewey Avenue in Poteau.
Casket bearers are Hank Remy, Larry Hancock, Russ Johnson, Terry Gray, Chris Brown and Randy Duncan.
