Obituary for Merlan Hendricks

Merlan Raylene Hendricks, 57, of Watson was born Nov. 21, 1965 in Mena, Arkansas to Harold William Focks and Janell Ann (Nipper) McBroom and passed away Feb. 12, 2023.

Graveside service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Watson Cemetery with Brother Todd Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Merlan was a homemaker and loved spending time with family and friends and especially loved her grandchildren. Merlan also loved get togethers, barbeques, and watching western movies or shows. She will be deeply missed by many whom loved and knew her. Merlan was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Bowen of Smithville; two sons Buddy Hendricks of Mena, Arkansas and Casey Jewell of Watson; two sisters Ellen Martin and husband Kenny of Octavia, and Elizabeth White and husband Greg of Broken Bow; nine grandchildren Melanie Jewell, Dale Gertiser, Matthew Gertiser, Katlynn Clausen, Ryan Hendricks, Shauna Hughes, Catelyn Hendricks, Isaac Hughes and Dalton Hendricks; one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Clausen; and numerous other relatives and host of friends

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold William Focks and Janell Ann Nipper McBroom; her husband, Clayton Hendricks; and a brother, Leroy Focks.

Viewing is Thursday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Buddy Hendricks, Casey Jewell, Ryan Hendricks, Katelyn Hendricks, Kenny Martin and Less Nipper.
