Miranda Lou Green, 80, of Wister was born March 23, 1944 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Thomas Haskell and Ruth Leah (Leak) Thompson and passed away Dec. 1, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Monday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Waymire officiating. Burial will follow at the Proctor-Sanders Community Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Miranda was a graduate of Tahlequah High School, received her Bachelors’ physics degree from Central Missouri State University, Master math degree from Northeastern State University, Bachelor Pharmacy degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and Pharmacy Doctor from the University of Arkansas. Glin and Miranda were married for 43 years. She was a long-time resident of the area, a life member of the Eastern Star, and was the owner/operator and pharmacist at Green’s Prescription Center in Heavener for many years. Miranda loved to travel, family gatherings, watching movies and reading, spending time with the grandkids were her greatest joy. Miranda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors are one son Michael David Green and wife Tawnya of Wister; one daughter Glenda Elaine (Green) Seiter and husband Ted of Collinsville; two brothers Stanley Thomspon of Muskogee and James Thompson of Bixby; four grandchildren Haskell Isiah Green, Edward Franklin Seiter, McKenzie Dannelle Green and Kaden Bradley Green; numerous children and grandchildren in love, other loved ones, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glin Green; and one brother, Frank Thompson.
Pallbearers are Edward Seiter, Kaden Green, Daniel Westbrook, Cecil Whisenhunt, Ricky Smith and Johnathan Remi. Honorary pallbearers are Haskell Green, Israel Whisenhunt and Nicholas Whisenhunt.
Viewing is from 1 until 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
