Obituary for Norma Davenport

Norma Sharon (Elliott) Davenport, 72, of Heavener was born Nov. 28, 1949 in the Independence community, outside of Heavener, to Joe Benny and Derotha (Elder) Elliott and passed away May 17, 2022 in Heavener.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at the Heavener First Baptist Church with Chris Davenport and Reverend Joe Haydon Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Norma was a life-long resident of the area, a 1968 graduate of Heavener High School, and a member of the Heavener First Baptist Church. She retired from being a L.P.N., where she worked as Dr. Kemp’s nurse for 20 years. Norma will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by one daughter Andrea Beth Stinson and husband Scott of Poteau; two sons

Jimmy Lee Davenport and wife Carin of Barling, Arkansas, and Christopher Scott Davenport and wife Amy of Bentonville, Arkansas; three sisters Doris Evetts of Heavener, Lana Hood of Heavener and Elaine Yandell of Heavener; one sister-in-law, June Davenport, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; six grandchildren Ethan Davenport, Breanna Hanham and husband Mason, Abbi Davenport, Kendal Stinson and boyfriend Trevyn Bingley, Darin Davenport and fiancée Kimberlee Holman, and Christa Davenport; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of many friends

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Myron Davenport; and two sisters Donna Dehart and Vicki Cyrus.

Pallbearers are Ethan Davenport, Darin Davenport, Mason Hanham, Trevyn Bingley, Christa Davenport, Abbi Davenport, Kendal Stinson, Breanna Hanham and Kimberlee Holman.

Viewing is from noon until 6 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. until noon, Saturday. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home,
