Obituary for Ronald Haynes

Ronald Edward Haynes, 76, of Wister was born Feb. 11, 1947 in Oklahoma City to William and Doris (Hamrick) Haynes and passed away March 11, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Funeral service is 10 a.m., Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church in Wister with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Red Oak Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

He was a longtime resident of the area, a truck driver, and a member of Heavener First Baptist Church. Ronald loved fishing, feeding all of his animals, gardening, and playing with his dog, Brandy. He will be missed by all whom loved and knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Haynes, of the home; two daughters Teresa Bridges and husband James of Chico, Texas, and Cheyann Haynes of Oklahoma City; two sons Billy Haynes of Poteau, and Jake Haynes and wife Suzanna of Panama; two sisters Emma Mullins and husband Phillip of Harrah, and Margie Venters and husband David of Tuttle; five grandchildren Cody Cecil, Hayden Bridges, Evan Haynes, Garrett Haynes and Kaylee Haynes; aunt, Janelle Haynes; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Doris Haynes; his grandparents; one brother, Larry Don Haynes; uncles and aunt Jimmy Haynes, Johnny and Pauline Haynes.

Pallbearers are James Bridges, Cody Cecil, Hayden Bridges, Evan Haynes, Garrett Haynes, Mark Mullins and David (Bubba) Venters. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis McGill, Adam Whitney, Phillip Mullins, David Venters, Sr., Ross Hall and Ronnie Pierce.
