Willie Lee Mathews, 77, of Heavener was born Jan. 25, 1946 in Waurika to Albert Vernon and Wilma (Heavener) Janway and passed away Oct. 7, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hontubby Cemetery with Brother Paul Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Hontubby Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Willie Lee was a life-long resident of the area and was a dietician in healthcare. She loved spending time with her family and visiting with friends. Willie Lee will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Truman Mathews, of the home; her children Michael Anthony Mathews and wife Danielle of Heavener, Stephen Mitchell Mathews of Heavener, and Patrick Wayne Mathews and wife Melissa of Heavener; three grandchildren Kimberly Nicole Mathews, Kyliegh Marie Chilcote and husband Jessie, and Devon Dylan Mathews; one great-granddaughter Skyla Mae Mathews; three brothers Albert Lee Janway of Wister, Joseph Janway and wife Sherri of Heavener, and Christopher Janway and wife Vicky of Heavener; one brother-in-law, Jimmie Woodral, of Heavener, three sisters-in-law Bobbie Janway of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Geneva Janway of Wister, and Barbara Janway of Heavener; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Jim, John and David Janway; two sisters Laverne Morrison and Melba Woodral; and a granddaughter Megan Amber Mathews.
Willie Lee will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
