Obituary for Wilma Carter

BOKOSHE–Graveside service for Wilma (Tackett) Carter, 82, of Bokoshe is 10 a.m. Monday at the Milton Cemetery with Brother Jim Smith officiating.

Services are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro.
Wilma was born June 7, 1941 in Milton to Matha (Culwell) and Roy Tackett and passed away May 8, 2024 in Bokoshe.

She married Carl Carter June 15,1979 in Sallisaw. Wilma retired from Riverside Furniture after 25 years of service, she enjoyed going to yard sales, gardening, and she loved to cook for her family.

Survivors include husband Carl Carter; daughters Tammy Ward and husband Danny, and Denise Bowden and husband Gary; brother, Roy “Sonny” Tackett; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; numerous other family members and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Matha Tackett; grandsons Jeff Tackett and Eric Lancaster; sister Wanda Nixon; and brothers Wayne Tackett and Bill Tackett.

Pallbearers are Gary Bowden, Chuck Nixon, Tag Tackett, Zach Young, Everett Lancaster, and Marcie Bowden. Honorary pallbearers are Beau Tackett, Brock Tackett, Bryce Tackett, Blake Tackett, Tom Nixon and Tanner Wagley.

Viewing and visitation is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with the family visiting with friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
