Oklahoma fishing report for 1-23-2025

This week’s Oklahoma fishing report courtesy of the Oklahoma Wildlife Department with the latest updates on fishing at the different lakes in the Sooner State.

NORTHEAST

Keystone:

Jan 20. Elevation is 1 ft. below normal and falling, water temperature 36°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth good on plastic baits around brush structure, main lake, rocks. Crappie good on jigs, minnows, plastic baits around brush structure, main lake, rocks. Blue catfish, Channel catfish good on live bait, live shad, minnows around brush structure, main lake, rocks. SOUTHEAST 

Konawa:

Jan 18. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 48°F and clear.

Largemouth slow on Alabama rig, crankbaits, plastic baits around main lake, points, river channel, weed beds. Hybrid, Striped, and White bass slow on Alabama rigs, crankbaits around discharge, main lake, river channel. Channel catfish slow on chicken liver, cut bait, shrimp around discharge, inlet, riprap, rocks. Report submitted by Garret Harley, game warden stationed in Seminole County.

Texoma:

Jan 19. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 52°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Striper good on flukes, live shad around channels, main lake, points, river channel. All catfish good on cut bait, dough bait, live shad, stinkbait around channels, docks, points, river channel, river mouth. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows, nymphs around brush structure, coves, docks, points, standing timber. Comments: Fishing this week has been good. Striper continue to be good on live bait and flukes. Catching them in deeper water on the northern part of the lake and catching them in shallow or water on the western side of the lake. Catfish are good near the river-mouth and channels with live and cut bait. Crappie are good on jigs around brush piles. Report submitted by Garrett Beam, game warden stationed in Marshall County.

Broken Bow: Jan 18. Elevation is 2 ft. above normal and rising, water temperature 43°F and murky. (USACE Lake Level) All bass fair on bill baits, crankbaits, jigs, spoons around brush structure, main lake, points, river mouth, standing timber. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows, spoons around brush structure, main lake, points, river channel, standing timber. Report submitted by Dru Polk, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Lower Mountain Fork River Trout Area:

Jan 17. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 42°F and clear.

Rainbow trout good on PowerBait, small lures, tube jigs, worms around creek channels, spillway. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

McGee Creek:

Jan 17. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 47°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth and Spotted bass fair on Alabama rig, bill baits, crankbaits, plastic baits, small lures, other around brush structure, rocks, shorelines, standing timber, other. Channel and Flathead catfish good on cut bait, shrimp, stinkbait around creek channels, flats, main lake. Crappie fair on jigs, minnows, small lures around brush structure, main lake, standing timber. Report submitted by Shay Loudermilk, game warden stationed in Atoka County.

Pine Creek Lake:

Jan 17. Elevation is 3 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 42°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth good on jigs around points, rocks.

Crappie good on jigs around brush structure, points. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait around river channel. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Sardis Lake:

Jan 17. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 41°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth fair on bill baits, crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, points, standing timber. All catfish fair on cut bait, shad, stinkbait, sunfish, worms around brush structure, channels, main lake, points, standing timber. Crappie fair on jigs, minnows around brush structure, channels, points, standing timber. Report submitted by Thomas Gillham, game warden stationed in Pushmataha County. 

Wister Lake:

Jan 17. Elevation is 2 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 38°F and stained. (USACE Current Lake Level) Largemouth slow on crankbaits, jigs around brush structure, main lake, river channel. Blue catfish fair on cut bait, shad around main lake. White crappie fair on jigs, minnows around brush structure, main lake, river channel. Report submitted by James Williams, game warden stationed in Le Flore County.
