Pervasive Parenting Center
POTEAU—Pervasive Parenting Center in Poteau received a $5,000 grant from the Kirschner Trusts at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
This grant is one of 49 awarded, totaling $751,913 to support Muskogee-area nonprofits, Jewish organizations offering educational and social services, and programs providing educational and vocational opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities.
The grant will support PPC’s Social Group, focusing on helping young adults with disabilities transition from high school into adulthood. This funding will help provide training for job skills, social skills, self-advocacy skills, and life skills for people 15 years old to 28.
PPC helps families in eastern Oklahoma with autism and other disabilities. Through training, the organization serves families in rural eastern Oklahoma in an effort help provide a better life for those with disabilities.
“We are so pleased to receive this grant,” says Kodey Toney, Director of the Pervasive Parenting Center. “This funding will help us continue and improve our efforts to help with transition services in our area of the state.”
