By KEN MILAM

The Poteau School Board agreed to purchase an audio-video-lighting system for the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center and approved several personnel changes, including hiring a new assistant superintendent.

The Kidd Center is being renovated and the new sound and lighting system will cost $208,117. Of the four bids received, board members agreed the bid from Grand Finale Productions in Fort Smith, Ark., was the best.

Following a 30-minute closed-door session, Diane Tillery was hired as the new assistant superintendent.

Other hirings included Mattison Davis, upper elementary teacher; Grace Mangrum, high school teacher; Stevee Sconyers, upper elementary teacher; Susan Vincent, PHS clerk; Kevin Vincent, seventh-eight-grade center custodian; and Sarah Jones, SEC family and consumer science.

Resignations included teachers Jennifer Faulkner, Joni Roop, Jill Thomas, Christie Hillebrand, Jason Henry, Ky Butler and Tammy Crase (retiring); paraprofessional Baily Thompson; and custodians Debra Johnson and Warren Chavers.
