POTEAU – Poteau School Board members updated two policies and approved some personnel issues in a special meeting Thursday night.
The Covid leave for staff policy was changed to treat Covid-related absences as regular sick leave. The change eliminates a stipend offered as an incentive to get the vaccination or booster.
The student conduct policy was changed to conform with Oklahoma State Boards of Education guidelines, which are more specific than the previous rules.
The people were hired – Johnny Hopkins as custodian, David Hunt as nurse and Hailey Hunt for Pirate Quest at the Upper Elementary School.
Extra duty stipends were approved for Joe Ballard as athletic director, $6,000, and $600 each for boys and girls assistant basketball coach
