Poteau stays perfect in district play
POTEAU – Coby Bell and Pierce Ballard teamed up to throw a shutout as Poteau defeated Muldrow, 7-0, in high school baseball action Monday.
Poteau is 7-1 overall and 5-0 in district play. The two teams are scheduled to play again Tuesday at Muldrow.
Bell went six innings, gave up the seven hits with three walks and 10 strikeouts. Ballard threw the final inning with a walk and three strikeouts. Leading only 1-0, Poteau scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to insure the win.
Jagger Dodson doubled and was 2-3 with a RBI and run, Dax Collins hit his fourth home run of the spring while going 1-3 with a RBI and a run, Calloway Warren doubled and finished 1-3 with a run and Bell also doubled while going 1-2 with a run.
