Poteau teams eliminated in Class 4A regional basketball tournaments Thursday at Sallisaw as the girls lost to Wagoner and the boys fell to Sallisaw.

The Lady Pirates fell to Wagoner, 66-49, while Sallisaw’s boys downed the Pirates, 60-44.

Girls

Wagoner jumped out to a 16-point lead at the end of the first quarter and were never threatened by the Lady Pirates.

Kylee Taylor led Poteau with 14 points and Kenzi Williams scored 11.

Poteau closes with a 3-19 record. Wagoner is 11-12 and plays Muldrow 1 p.m. Friday.

Boys

After a close first quarter, Sallisaw took control of the game by going on a 15-1 run in the second quarter to build a 25-11 lead at the half and coasted in the second half for the win.

Poteau finishes with a 6-18 record. Sallisaw is 10-15 and plays Stilwell Friday.
