Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center had its monthly governing board meeting Tuesday afternoon.
EOMC Chief Executive Officer Bob Carter told board members that the Federal Public Health Emergency has been extended until Jan. 11, 2023.
The Federal Public Health Emergency was created Jan. 27, 2020 and has been renewed periodically ever since. Carter told the board that when the Public Health Emergency ends, it is predicted that approximately 200,000 Oklahomans and 5,000 LeFlore County citizens will lose their Medicaid coverage approximately 150 days after the end date.
