Republicans rule
Republicans rule as all 77 Oklahoma counties voted for Donald Trump as the 47th president of the United States as he was expected to regain the post he held from 2016-2020, but had not yet gained the 270 electoral votes he needed as of Wednesday morning.
With all 1,984 precincts in the state reporting, Trump collected 1,035,217 or 66.1 percent of the vote from the Sooner State. Kamala Harris finished a distant second with 499,043 or 31.9 percent of the vote.
Trump was even more dominating in LeFlore County, collecting 15,316 or 81.7 percent while the Harris/Tim Walz campaign only collected 3,180 votes of 16.9 percent.
Several Republican candidates rode Trump’s momentum to wins. J. Brian Bingman was elected corporate commissioner, collecting 63.6 percent of the vote statewide.
Kevin Horn was elected U.S. Representative in District 01, Josh Brecheen was reelected as the U.S representative in District 02 winning even larger with 74.1 percent of the vote, Tom Cole got 65.2 percent of the votes cast for U.S. representative for District 0 Stephanie Bice was elected with 60.06 percent as U.S. Representative for District 05.
Eddy Dempsey, another Republican, was re-elected for state representative in District 1 from the southern part of the state with 86.2 percent of the vote.
State question No. 833 also failed as 61.6 percent of the voters were against the referendum.
State question No. 834 was soundly defeated as there were 80.7 percent of the voters against the referendum.
LeFlore County voters also voted for Bingman as corporate commissioner, Brecheen as U.S. representative in District 02, Dempsey for state representative in District 1, and no on State Question No. 833 and yes for State Question No. 834.
