Revised Oklahoma football districts

By CRAIG HALL

As I typed up a list of the football districts this morning, I decided to see what the football districts would look like if it was done by geography instead of trying to balance the power for all the classes, which results in silly matchups like Heavener and Kiefer, Kingston, Prague and Bethel, along with Talihina playing Morrison, a school near Tulsa.

Hall about it

As football czar, I got rid of dividing the classes other than Class 6A. Thus no 2A-1 and 2A-2.

I am only doing this for districts involving LeFlore County teams because and also not doing this for the Class B districts as I’m not sure where all the towns are located, plus I am feeling a little lazy this morning.

Current district

4A-4

Ada, Broken Bow, Glenpool, Hilldale, McLain, Poteau, Sallisaw, Stilwell

Revised district

Broken Bow, Fort Gibson, Hilldale, Poteau, Sallisaw, Skiatook, Stilwell and Wagoner

Class 2A current districts

2A-3

Bethel, Heavener, Hugo, Kiefer, Kingston, Okmulgee, Prague, Roland.

2A-8

Antlers, Atoka, Commerce, Henryetta, Morris, Spiro, Valliant, Vian, Wilburton.

Revised district

Antlers, Atoka, Heavener, Roland, Spiro, Valliant, Vian and Wilburton. (You could also swap Atoka for Hugo).

Class A current districts

A-4

Chouteau-Mazie, Morrison, Haskell, Hulbert, Panama, Pocola, Rejoice Christian, Warner

A-7

Allen, Central Sallisaw, Gore, Liberty, Mounds, Regent Prep, Talihina, Wewoka

Revised district

Central Sallisaw, Haskell, Gore, Hulbert, Panama, Pocola, Talihina and Warner

Again, this is just my opinion and is not based on anything other than common sense. I must point out that I have no agenda and would not play favorites as the governing body of Oklahoma high school sports sometimes seems to do.

Leave your thoughts in our comment sections below and let me know what I got right and also what I swung and whiffed on.
