Wright State jumped out to a 6-0 lead before Oklahoma showed life in the bottom of the third with a pair of runs off an error and RBI single from redshirt senior Michael Snyder.

The Raiders would add to the final tally in the fifth and sixth with a trio of runs in each inning to bring the final to 12-2. The visitors registered 15 hits on the day to OU’s six and hit three home runs while the Sooners did not manage an extra-base hit.

Taking the loss for OU was senior LHP James Hitt (0-1), surrendering six runs on eight hits with three strikeouts. Five other Sooner arms saw action with junior righties Dylan Crooks and Ryan Lambert each fanning one.

At the plate, six Sooners had singles for OU’s six hits on the day while Snyder brought one run in.

Aside from the team’s cold day at the plate on Sunday, the OU bats had an impressive weekend. Redshirt seniors Snyder (8 H, 8 RBI) and Kendall Pettis (8 H, 4 RBI) and junior John Spikerman (7 H, 6 RBI) led the Sooners on home-opening weekend.

The program set a home-opening series attendance record with nearly 7,000 fans packing L. Dale Mitchell Park over the weekend.

Oklahoma returns to action in Las Vegas next weekend, March 1-3, for the inaugural Las Vegas College Baseball Classic. The Sooners match up against Pitt, California and Ohio State.
