Week 6 was the wildest week of the season so far for LeFlore County football teams.
After nearly knocking off Idabel last week, the Bulldogs defeated previously undefeated Antlers, 14-6, Heavener put a scare in Eufaula before falling 35-14, Poteau stayed perfect with a 48-0 blanking of Madill, Central Sallisaw outscored Pocola, 58-30, in a battle of district leaders, Panama won the county showdown over Talihina, 43-12, and Arkoma continued to struggle, falling to Quinton, 58-6, in the Mustangs’ last non-district game.
In next week’s games, things don’t get easier for Heavener as the Wolves have to travel to Idabel, Poteau visits Hilldale in what should be one of the Pirates’ toughest district games, Spiro hosts Valliant, Pocola travels to face undefeated Gore, Panama hosts a struggling Canadian team and Arkoma is at home to start district play with Cave Springs.
